Thanks so much for supporting this project! Your gift will be used for:
The walk ($20,000 already Successfully Raised!)
Route planning and scouting (creating a map of the trail, scouting sections of the walk, asking private landowners to walk on their land, asking Indigenous tribes to walk on their ancestral land, etc)
Logistics planning (planning meals, food and water drops, identifying emergency protocols and emergency contacts along the route, etc).
Gear needed (renting GPS devices for safety and navigation, camping equipment, renting a support vehicle to shadow the walk, etc)
Making an educational curriculum and bringing it into schools ($60,000 needed - we need Your Support and are applying to grants):
Edit the footage from the water walk into an educational film to be shown in schools
Create corresponding curriculum in collaboration with indigenous tribes along the route: reflection questions, maps, and workbooks for teachers to use alongside the film in the classroom.
Pay educators and hire distributor to go into schools to show the students the film and talk about where water comes from.
